2024 Primary Election Candidate List (Updated daily at 2pm by the State Board of Elections)

Register to vote in Maryland at umd.turbovote.org or at the Online Voter Registration System. You can use TurboVote or the MD voter lookup to check if you’re registered to vote already, too.

Once you’ve confirmed that you’re registered, both websites will ask if you’d like to vote by mail. Voting by mail is a safe and secure way to vote in elections. For more information about mail-in voting security, check this out. You can also request a mail-in ballot from the state board of elections website here.

If you choose to vote by mail, you can choose to either have your ballot mailed to you or to have it emailed to you. If you choose to have it emailed to you, you will need to secure a stamp and envelope to return your ballot once you’ve filled it out.

You can return your ballot in MD through any of these methods:

  1. Mail your ballot inside the accompanying envelope from your local post office or mailbox by Election Day
  2. Drop your ballot off in a drop box provided by your county board of elections. You may only drop your ballot off in a drop box in the county in which you’re registered to vote. For example, if you’re registered to vote in Montgomery County, do not drop your ballot off in a drop box near campus, you must drop it off at a drop box in Montgomery County. A list of drop boxes will be posted here when they become available.
  3. Return your ballot to an in-person polling place during early voting or on Election Day.

If you choose to vote in-person, you can vote early at any voting center in the county in which you’re registered to vote. Early voting will take place from Thursday, October 24, 2024 through Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 7 am until 8 pm. The full list of early voting centers and Election Day vote centers will be posted here when they’re available. Look up where to vote here.

If you choose to vote in-person, you can also vote on Election Day- November 5th, 2024. On Election Day, you must go to your assigned polling place to vote. Maryland polling places will be open between 7 am and 8 pm on Election Day.

To view a sample ballot, go to this page and put in your address. You can look up the candidates on your ballot for more information on their ideas and platform on Ballotpedia.
